About Us

The JT Miller Group was formed in 2009 to provide the consulting services of John T. Miller to executive management teams and boards of directors in the independent electric power generation and renewable and biofuels businesses.  Miller provides services based on his experience developed during his career as an executive officer and senior manager for Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (COO), Calpine Corporation (SVP, Human Resources), Thermo Ecotek (division President), Pacific Generation (subsidiary Pres & CEO) and Cummins NW Power Systems (General Manager).

Since 2009, Miller has advised a variety of companies in the energy business in matters of strategy, project development, finance, and human resources.  During the 2013 to 2019 period, Miller served as Senior VP Government Relations & Human Resources to Macpherson Energy Corporation. Miller currently represents Macpherson on a board for a powerplant. Additionally, for DTE Energy Resources, he provides development consulting for carbon capture and storage.  
Miller guest lectures at Oregon State University's Leadership Academy in the School of Engineering and at Boston University's Institute of Sustainable Energy in the School of Business.
Miller holds a BS Mechanical Engineering, Oregon State University, and an MBA, University of Portland and completed Harvard University's Managing Global Opportunities Executive Education Program.
